Frequently Asked Questions
How are your quilts made?
My quilts are wholecloth quilts, meaning the designs are printed onto fabric rather than being pieced together.
I draw up the design, get it professionally printed onto fabric, make a classic "quilt sandwich" with batting, and then stitch over top of the design by hand with my presser foot or free motion quilting foot.
Do you make custom orders?
Yes! I do custom quilts on a limited basis, and with some restrictions. See my commissions page for more details.
How often are your commissions open/when will they open again?
I open commissions 1-2x a month. The best way to be informed is to sign up for my newsletter and follow me on Instagram!
Will you release more of previous designs?
Sometimes! But not usually. Making the same quilts over and over again is a surefire way to burn me out, and I prefer to spend my energy on new designs.
How many quilts will there be in a drop?
It depends on a couple of factors, but you can typically expect between 2-4 quilts of each design to be available for purchase.
What countries do you ship to?
I currently ship to:
- US
- Canada
- UK
- Australia
- NZ
The shipping service I use for international shipping helps keeps costs reasonable, but may also take 2-3+ weeks to arrive. Buyers are responsible for any potential duties on arrival. If you're concerned about your package, please get in touch with me!
How long will it take for my quilt to arrive?
My quilts are made-to-order, and I usually don't start the bulk of the work until after the drop. Sometimes I will have quilts ready to go that will ship immediately, and other times it may take up to 3-4 weeks before shipping.
How do I care for my quilt?
My quilts are intended to be art for display, not as functional pieces. Washing is not recommended, as it may warp the design, but spot cleaning or lint rolling is perfectly fine. Ironing on the cotton-setting is a great way to help flatten the quilt after shipping.
Do you have a tutorial?
I have a tutorial linked here, where I go over the basics of my process. I'd like to make a more in-depth tutorial someday!
What materials do you use?
I use 100% cotton for my fabric, backing, and thread.
What software do you use?
I use Procreate on my iPad for hand-drawn elements, and Affinity Photo for the rest of the design and quilt blocks.
